Ha Tinh’s merchandise export turnover reaches USD 1.42 billion
In the first nine months of 2026, Ha Tinh’s merchandise export turnover reached USD 1.42 billion, equal to 64.5% of the full-year plan. Departments, sectors and localities continue to accompany businesses in removing difficulties and expanding markets to create further momentum for the “final sprint” of the year.
According to data from the Department of Industry and Trade, Ha Tinh’s merchandise export turnover in the third quarter of 2026 reached USD 489.2 million; the cumulative figure for the first nine months of 2026 reached USD 1.42 billion, equal to 64.5% of the full-year plan and down 4.57% compared with the same period in 2025.
Overall, Ha Tinh’s export structure remains concentrated on a few key products. The decline in export turnover over the past nine months was mainly due to steel and steel billets, which fell by 8.23% compared with the same period in 2025, significantly affecting the overall result. In addition, several other products also recorded declines, such as textiles and garments, which reached USD 32.7 million, down 6.17% year on year.

The province’s merchandise export turnover in the first nine months of 2026 declined mainly because exports of steel and steel billets fell compared with the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, some products recorded strong growth, such as textile fibres and yarns of all kinds, which reached USD 19.74 million, up 116.92% compared with the same period in 2025; wood chips, which reached USD 68.55 million, up 42.04%; and tea, which reached USD 4.69 million, up 14.39%. However, as these products account for a small share of total export turnover, they have not been enough to offset the decline of the key product group.
The industry and trade sector forecasts that the global situation will continue to be complex and unpredictable. Geopolitical tensions, military conflicts, strategic competition among major powers, the growing use of trade remedies, and requirements on standards, quality and the environment for exported goods will continue to affect production and import-export activities. At the same time, the markets for some key product groups may recover, but unevenly, while logistics costs, raw materials and other inputs remain subject to potential fluctuations.

In 2026, Ha Tinh has set a target of USD 2.2 billion in merchandise export turnover.

Departments, sectors and localities continue to closely monitor production and business activities, review and remove difficulties for exporting enterprises; provide information and forecasts on markets and international consumption trends; strengthen early warnings on trade remedies; and connect Ha Tinh’s exporting enterprises with corporations and FDI enterprises to enhance their capacity to participate in global supply chains.
