Ha Tinh Prepares for Socio-Economic Cooperation Conference with Ho Chi Minh City
The Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee has issued a directive instructing relevant departments and agencies to coordinate in organizing a conference to review the implementation of the socio-economic cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and select provinces in the Northern and North-Central regions for the 2023–2025 period. The event aims not only to assess past achievements but also to formulate a strategic cooperation roadmap for 2026–2030, laying the groundwork for sustainable inter-regional development.

On March 24, 2023, a trade connection conference was held in Vinh City (Nghe An Province) between Ho Chi Minh City and several Northern and North-Central localities, including Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Nam, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa, and Thua Thien – Hue.
This earlier event paved the way for stronger inter-regional collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces, particularly Ha Tinh. The upcoming review conference marks a major milestone in evaluating the results of the 2023–2025 cooperation framework while establishing strategic guidelines for 2026–2030. Key priorities include deepening partnerships across trade, investment, tourism, and overall socio-economic development.
A major highlight of the conference will be a series of practical side events aimed at trade and tourism promotion. Scheduled for August 27–28, 2026, an exhibition featuring signature regional products will showcase local investment and tourism potential. Concurrently, a business matching session between modern distribution networks and regional suppliers is set for the afternoon of August 27, offering local enterprises and cooperatives direct access to large-scale markets. Additionally, a familiarization trip (Famtrip) and a seminar on tourism product development will run from August 25 to 28 to strengthen tourism links between Ho Chi Minh City and Northern provinces.
In line with Plan No. 417/KH-UBND issued on July 30, 2026, by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee has directed relevant departments and agencies to proactively prepare content and activities focusing on investment, trade, tourism, and business networking.
To ensure the success of the event, specific duties have been assigned to lead agencies. The Department of Finance will lead coordination with Ho Chi Minh City officials to finalize conference content and recommend practical cooperation plans. Meanwhile, the Department of Industry and Trade, alongside the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, will oversee the trade matchings, exhibitions, and regional tourism initiatives.

Special attention is also being paid to investor support and communications. The Provincial Investment Promotion, Information, and Support Center has been tasked with providing the portfolio of priority investment projects and allocating staff to oversee the exhibition.
Through prompt preparation and seamless coordination among relevant departments and agencies, Ha Tinh expects to deliver a highly successful conference, further strengthening economic integration between the province and the nation’s economic powerhouse, Ho Chi Minh City.
