Despite the severe impact of Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki), Ha Tinh’s economy maintained numerous positive signs, particularly in the areas of investment and industrial production.
Overall, the first 8 months of 2025 recorded positive developments that boosted the industrial production index of Ha Tinh province, including:
1. The production index of the mining industry increased by 18.21% compared to the same period last year. Large-scale projects implemented simultaneously across the province, along with newly licensed and expanded mining operations, directly contributed to the strong growth in the mining production index during the early months of the year.
2. The Pack Battery Manufacturing Plant completed the capacity upgrade of its production line 1, which began operation in August 2025. Meanwhile, the production line 2 is being urgently installed in the third quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed and begin operation in the fourth quarter of 2025. The estimated output for the first 8 months of 2025 is over 19,000 battery packs, more than six times higher than the same period last year. The production of battery cells is projected to reach nearly 12 million cells by the end of August. The production index of this industry remains high, significantly contributing to the growth of Ha Tinh’s industrial sector in the near future.
3. This year, in addition to the stable operation of both units of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant, the Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant officially commenced commercial operations at the end of July 2025, providing a significant additional power supply. As a result, the production index for the electricity production and distribution industry increased by 15.87% compared to the same period last year, becoming a key driver of industrial growth in Ha Tinh.

Several industrial products in Ha Tinh continued to show strong recovery and growth trends. Among the 20 main industrial product groups monitored, 13 groups recorded increasing output compared to the same period last year. Notable increases include: lithium-ion batteries, which surged sixfold; animal feed, up by 31.94%; construction stone, up by 24.14%; fiber, up by 21.13%; and electricity, up by 16.18%. However, some industrial products saw declines over the same period: zircon ore and zircon concentrate decreased by 10.55%; stainless steel semi-finished products dropped by 12.19%; wood chips and shavings fell by 11.85%; and ilmenite ore and ilmenite concentrate declined by 32.54%.

The labor utilization index of industrial enterprises in August 2025 decreased by 0.18% compared to the previous month but increased by 9.33% compared to the same period last year. In 2025, the labor utilization situation in Ha Tinh showed notable fluctuations, reflecting the recovery and transformation in the province's labor structure. The operation of new projects and factories has contributed to an increase in the number of workers compared to the previous year. Demand for labor recruitment in industries such as textiles and electronic component assembly remained high. By the end of August 2025, the labor utilization index of industrial enterprises rose by 5.75% compared to the same period last year. However, the labor utilization index in the mining industry decreased by 4.7% compared to the previous year.
The depletion of permitted mining reserves and the adoption of modern machinery and technology to replace manual labor are the main reasons for the declining labor utilization index in this sector. Meanwhile, the manufacturing and processing industry saw a 5.76% increase in labor utilization compared to the same period last year. Currently, several manufacturing and processing enterprises have started or expanded production to meet product consumption demands, leading to an increase in labor demand. The operation of the Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant contributed to a 13.04% increase in the labor utilization index for the electricity production and distribution industry, while the water supply and waste treatment industry saw a 1.52% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
In the first 8 months of 2025, Ha Tinh's industry continued to affirm its pivotal role in the province's economic growth, with notable achievements in energy, mining, battery production, and the expansion of manufacturing and processing industries. Despite challenges in certain sectors such as steel, wood, and depleted mineral resources, the trends of recovery, technological innovation, and investment expansion have enabled Ha Tinh's industry to maintain its growth momentum, significantly contributing to economic restructuring and job creation. This provides a solid foundation for the province to achieve further breakthroughs in the remaining months of 2025 and beyond.
